Your Question?
You meet a parent from your service at the cinema and she launches into a detailed story about members of another family who use the same service. What do you do?

What part/s of the code does this relate to??

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
Question 2: would it relate to confidential ?

Unsure of question 1: as if it was me I would listen but would not go and tell the other members if the family what was said and by who.

Check out the following:

ECA Code Of Ethics

I would try and think of an excuse "like you have an appointment to get too" and get yourself out of there. It's just that once you hear gossip then you will start thinking about what was said and may look and judge the family differently. Also anything that is mentioned to you by parent should remain confidential from other families and educators...

Hope this helps,
