Hi i am not sure if i am on the right track with this question,as it asking for a strategy then a question to answer any other input would be very much appreciated as i have gone blank thanks Pink.
Read the following scenario and write a strategy for jodie.
Jodie has recently been asked to complete the new checklist that her service has implemented to ensure the health and safety of children and staff both indoors and outdoors. These forms are to completed at certain times each day,and require the person completing them to sign and date each area as they complete it.Over the past week,Jodie has noticed that some of the staff are signing these without actually having completed the assigned jobs on the checklist.Jodie feels that it is really important to follow policies and procedures at work, and wants to
ensure this is being done for the new checklists.
Answer. Responsibility for children’s safety
The management and staff of each service have a duty of care to provide safe child care environments QA2 standard 2.3.2 every reasonable precaution is taken to protect children from harm and any hazard likely to cause injury. Policies and procedures help to protect children,families, staff and management. By using the checklist is an effective risk management method, by some of the staff not completing this correctly can put everyone at risk and they are not fulfilling there job responsibilities.
Jodie could bring it to the attention of the staff members the importance of the checklist.
Jodie could write it up in the communication book
Jodie could request a staff meeting be called to re-address the issue.
Should be reported to the director
Q. Who should Jodie report to with regards to the concerns regarding job responsibilities ?.
The Centre Director if there is a staff member who is not following the center's policies, the director will be the one to reprimand or terminate that employee.
