hi i have this question as a case study

harry is working in early childhood education and care. one of the childrens family members, Arnold, has taken a liking to harry as he reminds him of his son. he often gives harry small presents and has now offered to pay for a season ticket to the football because they both support the same team.

Q1 describe the ethical issue in this case study
Q2 how would you advise harry to respond to Arnold that would comply with organisational policy and procedures?

I understand that harry shouldn't accept any gifts from Arnold because this could be a discrimination issue?
harry could remind Arnold that he is a professional and they should maintain a professional relationship?

am I on the right track ? any other examples would be appreciated

Well if someone was offering you gifts all the time, they would probably be favourites of yours and you may offer them special treatment. It would just happen naturally since the family would pay so much attention towards you that your inclined to offer them better service for their child. Also, other staff may be reluctant to deal with the family since they are more inclined to listen to you instead...

Just think about what would you do if you were in that situation...
