Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: CHCIC301E
Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? Yes
Your knowledge: Beginner

Your Question?
I have a RPL question for cert 3 to answer and I'm not sure where to begin...
Discuss the positive support techniques you use while interacting with and caring for children and young people. Include your communication skills
Any assistance would be appreciated so I know where to start

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
The positive support techniques I have come up with are:
Establishing behavioural expectations
Providing instructions to a child or young person
Using positive reinforcement to support behaviour
Acknowledging behaviour using non verbal communication
Redirecting behaviour

I just have a really strong feeling I'm on the wrong track and wanted to confirm before I start to answer the question

I think you're actually heading in the right direction with your response!

You can also include:

- Provide encouragement
- Provide choices
- Get down on child's level
- Be a role model
- Keep communication simple
- Provide simple directions

The articles available in Resources, Childcare Proefessionals may also give you an idea:

Behaviour Management
Developing Positive relationships With Children

What you have written so far is pretty good!
