Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: Written Assignment 1, Q4
Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? Yes
Your knowledge: Basic Knowledge

Your Question?
4. Best outcomes for working with children are achieved when the educator clearly demonstrates assertive behaviour when interacting. List three assertive behaviours that will assist educators.

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
Well, to be honest I have hit a wall with this...

I was wondering if this means actively stopping a child from hitting another and saying things like "stop, we are gentle with our friends, hitting makes our friends sad", or does it mean more taking control of the room through the use of transition activities to get the children focused back on the educator? Or could it mean working directly with a child who, say, won't put toys away, and explaining firmly "first we will put these toys away and THEN we can read this story, lets do this first then read the story", that sort of thing?

Where can I look to find information on assertive behaviour from educators?

Description and Message:
My apologies if someone has previously posted this question, I did have a look through the forum first but could not find any information. Most grateful for any assistance out there.
