Hi all,

I am having trouble wording my answer to the question below (Module: CHCIC301D Interact effectively with children)

Why is it improtant to use non gender specific and non stereotypical language when communicating with children?

I have written:: it is important as it promotes to children that they can be anything they wants to be whether they are a boy or a girl....

I am not really happy with this answer completely and would appreciate any suggestions

Cheers

hi KPL,

One of the main reason to use non gender specific and non stereotypical language when communicating with children is to NOT limit the children to gender-based roles that often do not account for a child’s individual likes and abilities.

I have an attachment that may give you some more ideas. Have a look and let me know how you went..
