CHCECE010 - Joining In Child's Play & Accepting Responsibility

I've just found the rest of this question that I didn't know existed. I missed out on the class time so I don't really understand what it's asking... any ideas?

One of the key roles of educators is to guide and support children to become ‘socially competent’. In that they have the skills to get along with other people, and the skills to behave in a socially acceptable manner.

c) Discuss three ways that you could join in the child’s play and social experiences with other children.

d) Discuss three strategies educators can use to support children to understand and accept responsibility for their own actions, appropriate to their level of understanding.

c) Refers to how you would interact and engage children while they play

d) How to get children be responsible for what they done. For e.g. "spill water on the table, use a paper towel to clean it up" etc.

Hope this helps,

Thankyou, this is what I came up with.

One of the key roles of educators is to guide and support children to become ‘socially competent’. In that they have the skills to get along with other people, and the skills to behave in a socially acceptable manner.

c) Discuss three ways that you could join in the child’s play and social experiences with other children.
Interacting with children while they play could involve, getting down on their level and asking them questions about what they are doing, If a child is playing with puzzles, sitting with them and supporting them with their efforts, and giving hints on where the puzzle piece may go, or engaging in imaginative play with them, e.g. in a cooking corner and pretending to eat the food they have made for you.

D) Discuss three strategies educators can use to support children to understand and accept responsibility for their own actions, appropriate to their level of understanding.
Three ways you can use to support children in understanding and accepting responsibility for their actions could involve:
- If a child spills his/her drink or drops some of their food at meal time they use a paper towel to clean up their mess.
- If a child accidently hurts another child during play, encourage them to say “sorry for hurting you” and explain why the need to say sorry to the child who got hurt.
- If children are running around inside, and bump into each other, explain that this is why you don’t run inside, and how running is for outside time because there is more room.
