Read the case study and then answer the questions that follow.
Case study
Lily and Sue (both 4 years) are working at the collage table. They are chatting as they select materials to cut and paste. Hilda (also 4 years) has been standing at the table watching and listening for five minutes.

This case study describes one point of evidence that an educator may notice.
Question
1. Complete a table similar to the following showing how your pedagogy applies in each situation.
Point of evidence Response

Learning environments
Which EYLF learning outcome applies? Children are confident and involved learners.
What subcategory applies? Children develop dispositions for learning such as curiosity, cooperation, confidence, creativity, commitment, enthusiasm, persistence, imagination and reflexivity.

2. Discuss your answers with your trainer to determine if they see things differently.
a) What did they tell you? Explain.

I can help for Q2!

a) In my opinion, I would choose Secure, respectful and reciprocal relationships -having an understanding and being aware of children’s thoughts and feelings. Positively interacting with each individual child in their learning and support the development of a child’s sense of wellbeing.

As for the Learning Outcome - 1 - Children Have A Strong Sense Of Identity - 1.4 Children learn to interact in relation to others with care, empathy and respect.

This is evident when children:

show interest in other children and being part of a group.
engage in and contribute to shared play experiences.
express a wide range of emotions, thoughts and views constructively.
empathise with and express concern for others.
display an awareness of and respect for others’ perspectives.
reflect on their actions and consider consequences for others.

b) Take photos, observations, work sample.

Hope this helps!

Hi Lorina, Could you please help me with these questions. As i don't understand what i need to answer
Access two (2) pieces of evidence that demonstrate how your service supports the following two closely linked goals. Briefly describe how these goals apply to your examples:
a) EYLF Outcome 4: ‘Children are confident and involved learners’
b) United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child Article 29 summarised as: ‘Children’s education should develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the fullest. It should encourage children to respect others, human rights and their own and other cultures. It should also help them learn to live peacefully, protect the environment and respect other people
