What are some of the different ways children may communicate their needs with educators?

- Gestures (such as pointing)
- Body Language
- Sign Language
- Pointing to images of what they want
- Communicating in a different language
- Grunting or making different sounds

What specific skill do children have the opportunity to practise and observe at meal time?

When children are all sitting together and eating what skills are they practising? There are a few... Eating with utensils (using a spoon and fork), socialising by engaging in conversations with others, being healthy (by eating nutritious meals) etc.

Hope this helps,
