List at least three ways to prepare Joel for his stay in hospital to reduce
the stress and fear that he might be experiencing and help him to express his feelings.
How will you encourage him to talk about his fears? What would you say to him?

That everything going to be okay and mum will be here if you need someone to talk to. The doctors know what
there doing they will help you with your problem .
HELP HIM EXPRESS HIS FEELINGS OF FEAR AND STRESS?
ask him if he wants to talk about it about what he is feeling? wait and until your child anxious ask for your help
Also have mum to bring a conforter a teddy bear or a balcket to help him feel better being in hospital.

Hi Phoebe,
maybe you could set the home corner up as a hospital and have doctor/nurse dress ups available. Read books about doctors, hospitals. Activities about feelings. Encourage him to draw how is feeling: scared,sad etc.
