vv

Description and Message:
I had,

Educators can encourage a positive environment by inviting diversity into the service.
E.g, Providing a range of opportunities for children and their families to share their personal stories creates an atmosphere of cultural respect and acknowledgement of diversity.
Mutual respect across cultures involves being open to different ideas and approaches and appreciating the enrichment this provides. When educators are aware of cultural differences in parenting, sensitive to the issues faced by families and conscious of pwoer differences, this supports good relationships with families.

However it apparently isn't right...

Not sure where I have gone wrong or what the right answer is...

OK so the response you provided is an example of how a centre can promote cultural diversity but the question is asking how a centre handles issues that may come up in regards to cultural diversity. So, for this it's best to have a look at a centre's policies and procedure manual.

Here is an example of an Anti Bias Policy which may help you out with this question:

Inclusion and Anti Bias Policy

When answering the question think of points that the staff may be able to do to overcome a cultural issue that may arise within the centre. For example:

Staff will be encouraged to seek awareness of his/her own feelings, beliefs and background and evaluating the effect these may have on their attitudes and interactions with families.

Hope this helps,
