Hi!
I am not certain about a few Cultural Competence assignment questions again....
Q 1: Explain how educators provide opportunities to enhance their experiences of cultural diveristy? (75 words)
A: would it be something like interacting and participating with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Is. cultures, such as a community event?

Q 2: How might educators encourage children to be aware of and respect Aboriginal/Torres Strait Is. culture and history? (100 words)
A: Building responsive relationships, open and honest communication?
Q 3: How can educators promote establishments of constructive relationships with Aboriginal/Torres Strait Is children and their families? (75 words)
A: Face to face conversations, making enquiries making referrals?
I can't seem to find much in my learning support material
thanks!

Hi Lorina,
thank you...I will have a look at the links you have sent. The Cultural Competence is a BIG module, so will keep plodding along with it! Thank you also for wishing me well with my new vocational placement. A little different being with little ones again after previous studies with my placements with OSHC. Thanks also for the news of your new app. This all looks great and hopefully I can make use of it one day if someone employs me!
Cheers
Lesley

HI Lesley,

Yeah cultural competency can be a little tough especially regarding ATSI communities. There is so much history to learn about and customs and traditions it's hard to make sense of it all sometimes. It's just a shame that learning and knowing this sometimes we can't put it into use, depending on where we work... Anyways it's good to learn it of course! Yeah going from the bigger kids to the little ones does make a difference. At times you forget how cute and innocent they really are! They will keep you on your toes for sure.

Yes, new app is finally out! It's been a long time coming, we put over 4 years into creating it! So, really happy that we can finally share it! If you have any questions regarding the App let me know and I'll be happy to help!

Have fun with the little ones!
