Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: CHCCS400C
Your Assignment Type: Case Scenario
Currently Working in Childcare? No
Your knowledge: Advanced Knowledge

Your Question?
Case study situation is:
The family ask if you can bring their child home after your shift ends as they need to go to a meeting. You agree, as it is on your way home.

I can choose from (I would do this, why or I would not do this, Why.) i have chosen ( I would not do this, why.)

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
Explain to the family it wouldn't be a good idea to take the child our of the center just in case something happen. Policy and produces are there to protect the child, parent and educators.

Description and Message:
Hello.

I'm having trouble coming up with idea of why i would not do this. The answer i have i'm not sure if its on the right track.

If some-one could glide me in the right direction that would be great.

Thanks. Nikki.

Within some centres policy and procedures there is a policy stating that Employees cannot babysit children outside of work hours. This is usually because it crosses the boundaries between staff and parent relationships and it may become a legal problem for the centre if something were to happen. You could probably use the same for this scenario as well... Ethically staff should not look after children outside of work, even if it is just to drop a child off... The parents can make alternative arrangements such as contacting an authorised person from their child's enrolment form to take the child home.

Hope this helps,
