Your Question?
Mrs Bower has written in the communication book & spoken with staff members for her son, Stuart, not to have a sleep as he is not going to bed before 10.00pm each night. You find when you come back from lunch the Group Leader has patted him to sleep. When the Group Leader was asked why he is asleep, her reply was, "I didn't read the communication book and nobody had given me any message. I believe that children should have a sleep during the day".
Q1 what is the ethical issue with this situation?
Q2 How can we make the communication more effective?
Q3 Do you feel it is important to meet the parent's request and why?
What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
1.Ethical issue here is no communication, GL should have read book regardless to double check any messages
2. Staff members should have spoke to each other and GL or write up on board for staff to see
3. It's important to meet parent's request so that child will be able to sleep better at night if one sleep has been cut out. this is all I have, is it enough Cheers Maria.
