Your Question?
Write a detailed report describing the legal and ethical responsibilities of community service providers and their staff. Include, in your report, the following: 1. Explain why documented policies, procedures and protocols are necessary:
ANSWER:
It is necessary for Policies, Procedures and Protocols to have a documentation of policies to help keep everything organized and to also keeps colleagues, clients and others on the right track when doing what a company sees as its mission in the way it believes is right to do it.
For an example, if the mission is to help those with problems in gaining employment the main focus of the company would to assess every individual and figure out ways to help them based on their previous experiences, workers may help clients get into training facilities and programs which may benefit them in gaining employment in the work force.
By having a documentation it helps prevent people from losing focus, by documenting things it is a great way to see what actually works and what isn’t being so successful when helping and working with clients.
Documented policies, procedures, and protocols keep systems in place for demonstrating to these funders that the organization is doing what it said, the way it said, and getting appropriate results. These protocols, policies and procedures also serve as a protection for both the organization and its staff and workers.
For example if an organisations policy states that no worker should work with a client that they are connected with outside the workplace, which can prevent people making accusations of “favouritism” such as: the worker that is friends outside of the workplace, may work closer with the client they know to help them gain employment and certificates etc. quicker than others, having this policy in place can prevent such allegations and also allow all clients to feel that they are being treated equally.
2. List the legislation and regulations and ethical conditions that apply to community service operations.
3. Describe the systems that might be put in place to ensure legal rights of clients are upheld and to make certain cultural, linguistic and religious diversity are responded to appropriately.
4. Explain the actions that should be taken if client rights are not properly upheld.
