Your Question?
Hi , I have an Assesment due on Tuesday and I'm having a difficult time understanding it ! These are the questions : we believe children should be treated equally and their cultural and linguistic diversity embraced and acknowledged , how could it be translated into practice ..... : we believe children are resourceful learners who are capable of constructing knowledge of the world around them , how could it be translated to practice : we believe that it's essential for our program to embrace and promote environmentally friendly practices , how could it be translated into practice : we believe families have the right to participate in the centre and share decision making , how could it be put into practice ?

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?

Culturally linguistic part - have books and posters showing the cultures/words/pics from the relevant countries. Invite visitors who can share knowledge about these cultures.
Resourceful learners - provide the children with props/resources/toys etc and just see where they go with it. You will be surprised with the scenarios kids can come up with that you would never have thought of.
Environmentally friendly - recycle paper, have a box construction area - get parents to bring in their empty cereal boxes etc and use them for constructions. Build a worm farm or a compost heap for food scraps.
Families participate - do a survey of parents - what would they like to see, how would they like to be involved? have a parent roster up for parent help. Ask in newsletters if anyone is musical/good at cooking/sewing etc to get them involved with particular activities.
Hope this helps
