Hello I'm new to this I'm currently working on the assignment chccn302a and I'm a I'll stuck on a question
The question is outline rest routines for an 8 month old baby
A 2 year old
A 5 year old
And a 10 year old in OSHS's rest/relaxation needs

I currently work in OSHC

What I have so far is

8month old baby rest routine:

- give child food or bottle deepening on if they have been introduced to solids
- change child's nappy
- wash child's hands or wipe with a wipe
- remove heavy clothing and shoes
- place child at the end of cot
- cover in blanketing if necessary ensuring not to cover face or arms
- dim lights or turn them off
- turn on calm and relaxing music

2 year old rest routine:
- give child food /have lunch
- nappy change/ toileting
- wash child's hands or wipe with a wipe
- remove heavy clothing and shoes
- place on bed
- give child activity until other children are settled
- remove activity from child and calmly tell the to lay down
- dim lights or turn them off
- turn on calm and relaxing music

5 year old rest routine:
- give child food/ have lunch
- go to the toilet
- wash hands
- remove heavy clothing and shoes or have child remove them
- place on bed
- give child activity until other children are settled
- remoVe activity from child and calmly tell them to lay down
- dim lights or turn them off
- turn on calm and relaxing music

10 year old rest/relaxation
- have afternoon tea
- go to the toilet
- wash hands
- supply child with activities that implement them to be pretend and use their imagination for example a sand pit , painting or read a story

With the baby I would add that the baby is to be placed on its back in its cot

supply child with activities that implement them to be pretend and use their imagination for example a sand pit , painting or read a story

what do you mean by this?

For a 10 yr old I would not expect them to sleep so would probably give them books to read during quiet time or so some other kind of quiet activity... same may go for the 5 yr oldsm most children this age will not have a sleep during the day

As i mentioned I do not think playing in a sandpit etc are rest/relaxation things. I think doing quiet solitary activities like puzzles, colouring sheets etc would be more appropriate or yes reading a book

so i could say activitives like board games , wordsearches or as u have said colouring sheets or read a book
what about block play would that be suitable

not sure 10 year olds would be too interested in block play, maybe some more complex contruction type things but that may be too noisy for rest time.
I think u need to think of more silent/quiet/calm activties they can do resting on a matress or just in an area of their own
