Question: Research indigenous art and then explain why it is important to avoid tokenistic experiences such as dot painting.

Answer: Tokenism occurs then cultural diversity and differences are not acknowledged and embedded in every day practice in the program. Without background knowledge and an appropriate explanation of the cultural significance dot painting becomes a tokenistic experiences for the children. Indigenous culture should be recognised and included throughout the program, not just through dot painting.

Am i on the right track with my answer? Im not really sure how to answer this question, ive been stuck on it for a while.
