Programming Activity Ideas for June Events 2026

June offers a vibrant mix of cultural celebrations, environmental awareness days, and fun community events that can be meaningfully woven into early childhood programs. From exploring sustainability on World Environment Day to celebrating creativity on World Music Day, these occasions provide rich opportunities for children to engage in hands-on learning, develop cultural understanding, and strengthen their sense of identity and wellbeing.

The following activity ideas are mapped to each event, offering educators practical ways to embed experiences that connect with the EYLF outcomes. With five suggestions per event, educators can select and adapt activities to suit their group’s interests, environment, and resources, ensuring programming remains engaging, inclusive, and purposeful throughout the month.

Daily Observances

World Milk Day – 1 June

  1. Milk Tasting Station – Compare cow, soy, and almond milk.
  2. Milk Art Experiment – Food colouring swirls with dish soap.
