When The Parachute Goes Up

An energetic game of moving different parts of the body, while playing with the parachute.

Materials Needed: 

  • A large parachute 

What to do: 

  • Have the children stand in a circle holding the parachute along the edges with both hands. 

  • Have children move the parachute up and down and sing the following (sung to the tune of If You're Happy And You Know It)

When the parachute goes up
Stomp your feet
When the parachute goes up
Stomp your feet 

OR

When the parachute is high
And floats up in the sky
Stomp your feet.

Additional verses:

  • Lift one leg…
  • Shout hooray!…
  • Bend your knees…
  • Wiggle your bottom…
  • Shake your head-and so on…
