Fixed Term contract queries

Hi,

I have been working as a casual educator at Goodstart since 5 months, and i have been going to that centre since couple of weeks. now my director asked me if i am wanting to go on a fixed term contract. i am so confused here. can anyone make me clear "what does a fixed term contract mean?" when woking for this what kind of benefits will i be entitled for? like will i get uniform allowance, childcare discounts, sick leave and annual leave? will my pay be the same or will i have change in my pay rates?
i really need a clear information on "fixed term contract". please help

Hi!

When you are on a fixed term contract, it means you are employed for a specific period of time. For example, if you are on a 6-month contract - your employment ends after 6 months. You are usually full-time or part-time and entitled to the same benefits, annual leave, sick leave etc. as a full time employee.
