Hi!

Well, it depends on what you want to do for the future...Do you see yourself working in early childhood for the next say 10 or more or would you like to teach in primary as well?

It really depends on what your preferences are...

If you do a bachelor of education (ECE) that will allow you to teach from ages 0-8 yrs so it encompasses the early years of primary as well

You need to evaluate what age group suits you best. If you prefer slightly older children then primary is better for you but if you like being around the younger ages then do the ECE

my concern is that I have heard that bachelor of education primary usually don't get a job or they get only casual work at school am 33 years old. I want to work in both sectors to secure job.although I worked with 0 t0 16-year-old in overseas and am quite capable of working with any age group.
one more thing I did Bed elementary in India,
thanks

Good morning lorina,
is true that the Bachelors of primary education qualified doesn't get jobs within one or two years spen.
and after the registration as primary school teacher, they need to give an interview.
Do you think if I would start a bachelor of education (ECE) I would get a job in a state school.
what would be the selection criteria to be a primary school teacher and (ECE) at the state schools
please help me. I need your guidance or you would refer me to another agency who work as career consultant in this field.
please help:?

No, I'm not too sure about job perspectives in state schools. I would probably recommend that you do a job search and see what you come up with, that way you get an idea on what job opportunities are on offer... Would you prefer to work in a school setting or with the younger children or with both?

It's a hard decision!

Go on seek.com and see what the job openings are like. As far as I know primary teachers are in demand. Also if you do a B.Ed (Primary) you are probably more employable in a school than if you did a B.Ed (ECE) as with that you can really only teach up to grade 3 in a school.

Anyway as mentioned the best thing to do is to do a simple job search.

Another option is to call a recruitment agency and ask them eg HAYS

Sorry to hijack this post but I can't find where to create my own.
I have a bachelor of teaching/bachelor of arts and also a cert III in early childhood education and care.
Do you know what RPL I would receive for an ECT degree?
Thanks, Gil
