How many toddlers do you have?
Do you have access to shelves?

- You can use mats to break up space
- Put activities in baskets
- set up tables and chairs in an area which can be used for art and craft, messy activities.
- Use the couch to create a divider if possible to make another area within the room...

If you can add some photos of the room it will be helpful so I can give you a better idea on what's the best layout.

Sorry for my delayed response... I've been away for the past few days and the mobile internet takes forever to download attachments...

1)Move the shelf up the back against the window to wear the book area is. You can keep it vertical and in the middle and put a mat on either side so you can set up 2 areas. The top shelf could be for one mat and the bottom shelf for the other mat.

2) Book area can be moved to the back window to let in plenty of natural lighting. The book shelf can be placed against the window, with the small kids sofa on either side of the books shelf and the big sofa facing the window. Try and keep it enclosed and have one access point for the children to go in and out of to make it more secluded.

3) The 2 tables are fine where they are... since that is the access area you should keep that clear for parents to come and go. I would suggest keep 4 chairs at a time to make it look less crowded and bring out the other chairs when needed.

4) Behind the tables, in the first picture, there is a small shelf but I can't how big it is... Is it possible to create a small home corner there?

I hope this gives you some ideas on what to work with!
