Hi just a quick question I am studying my Diploma through a traineeship and as we go under a council award we are paid more than the average cert 3 educator but I wanted to find out when I finish my Diploma do I get paid more even though I'm not in the role as a room leader which doesn't give anyone an incentive to obtain a Diploma or is it up to the council it's self in there award as holding a Diploma

I'm not sure what happens with the Council Award but as for the Children's Services Award once you obtain your Diploma qualification and your position is an assistant educator you will be on Level 3.4. So your pay rate is more than a cert 3 qualified but less then a Diploma qualified room leader. Since a Diploma qualification is higher than a cert 3 your pay will be more, even though it's the same position.

Hope this makes sense!

You should be getting a higher pay rate when you complete your qualification, it's just that I'm not sure how much since you are on a different award..
