Advice- Educational Leader Role

Post by Neshkah » Fri Mar 31, 2017 12:14 pm

Hello Lovely Educators. I have recently been appointed the role of Educational leader at my service.
I have only been in the field for two years, the second year being room leader for the first time. I know i will be getting a lot of help and support from my Centre Manager and other Educators, but I still feel a little bit unsure. I'm still learning when it comes to writing, programming and planning and im confused as to how im meant to help others, when i need help too. My manager says that i was the only suitable candidate for the role.
I feel great knowing people have faith in me, but i still get the feeling its going to be a disaster. Any advice is much appreciated.
Thank-you :)

in the place where you work.
You can take this as an opportunity that others don't usually get being so new. There is lots of information online. I've attached the acecqa and early childhood australia links.

Don't put too much pressure on yourself they are all aware that you are still new, have fun with it..... baby steps

Hi Neshkah,

Congratulations on your new role!!

I have written a guide for educational leaders to help you get an understanding of what you need to do or where exactly you start. This may help:

A Guide For Educational Leaders

I've also developed a checklist for your role as the educational leader:

Educational leader Checklist

This may give you some ideas to get on how to practically get started as the educational leader.

Let me know if you have anymore questions!
