Prequisites for Opening the Family Day Care

Post by badalratra » Sat Oct 24, 2015 8:05 pm

Hi,
I am interested to open the family day care however, not sure what are the prerequisites?

Also, I am in the middle of purchasing the property so could you advise me the requirements/obligations should need to be considered for opening the family day care in home?

Really appreciate your advise.

I'm sorry I missed your question!

You will find the pre-requisites of what is required in the National Regulations. Your home will still need to be assessed before you can start an FDC but this will guide you on what needs to be done. You will need to refer to the following areas:

The physical environment requirements for FDC venues outlined within the National Regulations include:
• Regulation 103 – Premises, furniture and equipment to be safe, clean and in good repair
• Regulation 104 – Fencing
• Regulation 105 – Furniture, material and equipment
• Regulation 106 – Laundry and Hygiene facilities
• Regulation 107 – Indoor space requirements (3.25m2 per child)
• Regulation 108 – Outdoor space requirements (7m2 per child)
• Regulation 109 – Toilet and hygiene facilities
• Regulation 110 – Ventilation and natural light.

You can find the Regulations in the following:

National Regulations

This is just the "Physical" requirements needed...

Hope this helps,

You could contact the Regulatory Authority in your region, and discuss the process involved, if you want to be attached to a scheme, you will have to shop aroun for who the best provider is in your area.
