Help with answering a question for a job application

Hi
I would love some help in answering this simple question for a job application .
The question is
"Why do you believe the rights of the children are important?"
I simply go blank on this one !! arghhhhh

Can children speak for themselves? Should they be treated with the same respect as adults?

Search the UN Convention on the Rights of a Child, this may give you some ideas

Because each child has the right to their own identity, personality and set of wants and needs. They have a right be little adventurers and explore their environments in their own personal ways, while still feeling safe, loved with a strong sense of belonging. But as mentioned above, the UN Convention on the rights of a Child will assist you in developing your answer.
