Good Childcare Agencies in Melbourne?

Post by Thinking99 » Fri Jul 22, 2016 4:26 pm

Hello there, I'm new and I hope I've followed the right guidelines.

I'm diploma qualified and casually employed at one childcare centre in St Kilda. Winter is usually the time of year where I get the most work, but that hasn't been the case.
I am attempting to put my resume in at a few of my other local centres, but I thought as a stopgap it would be best if I joined an Agency.

The problem is I'm not sure where to start.

Does anyone have any recommendations of a good agency to sign up with?

I'm from Sydney and way back I was with Expect A Star and they were good. They gave me casual work regularly and was also offered full time work through them.

Sorry can't find the edit button.
Anyone have any general advice on finding/signing up for childcare agencies, or any others they would recommend?

When signing up to the agencies tell them exactly what you're looking for, how far you can travel to and what ages you would like to work with. This helps them to find a centre for you. You could even use the agency to find you a full time role and they usually work hard in finding a suitable centre for your needs....

You could always send your resume and cover letter to centres around your area to let them know that you're looking for a position....

Thanks folks. This really helps. For now I've signed up with Expect a Star and Anzuk because my current employer uses them. I'll see where we go from here.
