Some of the info that will help is:

1) Are you an Australian citizen going to work in India (in which case you will be considered as an Overseas worker in India) or are you an Indian shifting back to India?

2) What visa would you be going as? As a migrant, PIO/OCI, Working Visa, or Indian resident / citizen?

3) Are you looking to work in an existing centre or planning to set-up your own centre?

4) Do you know which city or state you might be settling in?

5) What qualifications do you have and where did you do your studies?

6) What age groups do you want to work with?

In India, from what I know so far, childcare is not the same as what we have in Australia. Some of the differences you will notice will be that children start "Kindy" (LKG) from 3 years and above. Montessori is extremely popular with many schools and preschools taking a Montessori method in classes. Children here learn to write, read, alphabet, numbers, colours, shapes, animals, family etc during their day from as young as 3. There are also themes and topics that are covered throughout the week. Everything is teacher initiated... For the older kids 3 years it's typically just a morning session - 9 to 12:30. When children attend Kindergarten at school their day is the same, just in the morning. It extends in Yr 1 onwards... There is alot of competition!! Also, it's not called childcare, there are creches, playgroups, preschools and then school.

Other than that, there are also other legal requirements when setting up a centre or when working at a centre as an overseas volunteer. Now-a-days, the government in India is making the criteria for educational centres a bit stricter in order to make sure certain criteria are met.

Since you mentioned you have done some research on it, I will love to hear what you have found so far and what your plans are. If you can let me know on what kind of info you are looking for, I will try to help you out any way I can.
