Appearance: Questions from Newbie

Post by Giitara » Thu Jan 19, 2017 8:30 pm

(Aiming for a job in Acorn childcare, Bundaberg. Am 17 & I'm studying cert 3 right now. Never had a job before either)

Can you wear a skirt when working?

What to do if you have 3 new ear piercings?

Can you have dyed hair? Like red & brown?

Can your nails be painted?

Does age matter when working in childcare?

Are necklaces allowed?

Can you wear a hair clip rather then a hair tie?

Can you have a small tattoo on your hand? Would you need to cover it? What if it's new & you can't cover it?

1) It's more comfortable wearing tights, black pants or even jeans. You will be busy lifting and holding kids, packing up toys off the floor and wearing a skirt may be uncomfortable.

2) As long as you have a small stud in each, then you should be fine!

3) Yes, you can!

4) Yes!

5) You will need to be 18 to be able to supervise the children on your own.

6) It depends... If they are long and can be hidden under your top it should be OK, a child may grab and pull at it but wearing one necklace should be fine.

7) Yes! As long as your hair is tied up.

8) It should be fine - as long as it isn't rude!

Hope this helps!
