Separation anxiety
Hey all im currently busy with learning and development. Regarding separation anxiety. The question is what are three ways you can support a childs transition into the service. Establish a trusting relationship and positive relationship with the child
Re: Separation anxiety
You could offer an orientation program for the child and their parent where they come and spend a couple of hours each day prior to starting to get familiar with the children, educators and routine.
Suggest the child bring their comforter or teddy from home so they feel a sense of security.
Have the same educator with the child during the separation process each time so the child senses someone familiar.
Establish a drop off routine with the parent to make it run smoothly.
Hope this helps,
Lorina
