Scenario: Child Developing Body Rash In Care

Post by whimsywoo » Thu Aug 25, 2016 7:59 pm

Hi

I have a question to answer, What to do if a child develops an all over body rash in care.

I am thinking along the lines of, Checking for other symptoms, possibly isolating the child in case of contagiousness.

Other than that i am not sure, any help would be wonderful

Yes, you're on the right track...

- check temperature
- list what the child has done before the rash occurred such as where they played, what they played with, what they ate
- give fluids such as water
- keep isolated
- ring parents
- write an illness report
- you may need to ring the department of health to inform them of a specific outbreak etc.
