Hi Lorina,

Can you please help me with below questions? This is a subject I do not have a lot of knowledge on how to deal with.

Refer to the scenario below to answer the following:
You are told by a child in care that another educator has touched them in a private place and they didn’t like it.

Question 1: What tips would you use to solve this ethical dilemma?
Answer:
*Identify the problem, speak with all involved and gather as much information as possible, consider every view point.
*Consider all the consequences of each possible reaction to the ethical dilemma

Question 2: Which statement from the Code of Ethics relates to this situation?
Answer:
In relation to colleagues, I will:
1.Encourage my colleagues to adopt and act in accordance with this Code, and take action in the presence of unethical behaviours.

Question 3: What is one action you may take to deal with this situation?
Answer:
Not sure what to answer here... should I report to the supervisor?

Thanks,
Caroline

As for code of ethics I was thinking more towards:

In relation to children:

Respect the rights of children as enshrined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989) and commit to advocating for these rights.

Code Of Ethics

text from the booklet on 2016
http://www.earlychildhoodaustralia.org. ... e-2016.pdf

there is no point
"Respect the rights of children as enshrined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989) and commit to advocating for these rights."

So maybe
"act in the best interests of all children" ?
