CHCPRT001 - bringing toys to the centre

Post by calbuque81 » Fri Aug 18, 2017 4:31 pm

Hi there,
Can you please assist with below assignment?

**QUOTE**
Enter ‘Response 1’ or’ Response 2’ indicating the appropriate answer: A child has brought a small toy car into the room. Your service policy is for home toys to stay in bags, but the child cries and holds the car tightly when you explain this.

Response 1: You explain that you want the car to be safe, so maybe the child should put it in their pocket for today.

Response 2: You take the car from the child and put it on a high shelf. You say that the rules state no home toys are allowed.
What policy guides you in this response?
**UNQUOTE**

My response is number 1, however I confused where to find the policy guide, I am not sure which policy guide the question is referring to.

Thanks and Regards,
Caroline

I would say Response 2 - if the child puts the car in his pocket he still may lose it or take it out to play with it during the day etc. So, it's safer to put the toy on the top shelf... The centre should have a policy on Bringing Toys From Home etc.

Tks Lorina, I am just confused on what policy I need to mention "What policy guides you in this response?" not sure what they are after, would that be on the NQS or somewhere else. I have not started my work placement as yet.
Should I respond that the policy that guides me is the one provided by the centre?

Regards,
Caroline
