Unvaccinated Children Banned From Childcare In NSW

Parents who do not wish to vaccinate their children on conscientious grounds are banned from having their children enrolled in child care centres in NSW.

In a policy announced today by Labour, this will plug the loophole which had allowed specialist anti-vaccination child care centres to be set up. This will also cover FDC services.

"We need to be encouraging vaccinations not discouraging them," Mr Foley said in a statement.

"Vaccinations are the only way to protect against serious diseases like polio, mumps, whooping cough, meningococcal, diphtheria and tetanus."

These changes will not affect children who cannot be vaccianted because of a medical condition.
