Chinese Money Tree

For Chinese New Year, create this simple money tree, which can bring money and fortune and symbolises affluence, nobility and auspiciousness.

Materials Needed:

What to do:

Trace the child's hand and forearm onto the red piece of paper.

Using a paintbrush or sponge, dab gold paint inside the hand to create the tree branch.

Add gold paint to a coin and stamp it around the hand to create the "money tree".

Now, you have created you're very own money tree!

Hints and Tips:

  • Use gold paper instead of paint to collage inside the hand
  • Instead of stamping coins, gold circles can be cut out and glued around the tree
  • Add glitter for a sparkly effect
