Puzzle Play and Home CornerHi Visitor,Home Corner and Puzzle Play Templates are now available to download for LDC, FDC and OOSH Educators. These templates have been developed to show families how their child interacts and engages while playing. Even though their child may be only "playing", they develop many skills and enhance their creativity by exploring their environment. Some parents may misunderstand play base learning so it's important we provide opportunities to share with them their child's learning and these templates are a simple way to acknowledge this. Home Corner: To show how Home Corner and pretend play creates a child's learning and development. Pretend play is very important for children's development and learning. In the house corner, children can take on and try out roles from familiar family scenes, local community's experiences and imaginative fantasies. Puzzle Play: For families to understand how puzzles benefits a child. When a child completes a puzzle they are acquiring many skills without even realizing it. Puzzles enable a child to develop problem solving skills on how to place a piece in the correct space, cognitive skills through visual space awareness, fine motor skills to learn how to grasp and pick up pieces through manipulation, hand/eye co-ordination by placing puzzle pieces in correct order and social skills by completing puzzles with peers.
